A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital this morning after a crash with a car at a busy dual carriageway.

Paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service were called to the A31 eastbound, between Ashley Heath and the A338 Salisbury Road at 8.33am.

A motorcyclist had received injuries to his wrist and ankle and was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The car driver was not believed to have been injured.

There was a build-up of traffic as motorists left the A338 Spur Road heading east towards Ringwood.
