TRAFFIC built up on the A31 earlier this morning following the reignition of a roadside fire involving hay bales and straw.

Firefighters were first called to the scene, at land close to the Merley roundabout, on Tuesday evening, to deal with an fire involving 10 metres square of hay and straw.

This morning, around 6.30am, crews from Poole and Wimborne attended the scene again after the fire reignited.

Police also attended to help control traffic as numerous drivers slowed down to view the incident.

The fire was extinguished the second time by 7.30am.
