A MAIN road in Poole will be closed in stages during a 10-week programme of gas works.
From Monday, April 10, until Tuesday, June 20, stretches of the A35 Fernside Road will be shut in phases as part of a ‘rolling road closure’. Gas company SGN will be carrying out work to replace gas mains.
The first closure, from April 10 until Sunday 16, will be between the junctions of St Mary’s Road and Linthorpe Road. The second closure, from Monday 17 until Sunday 30, will be between Linthorpe Road and Longfleet Road.
The third closure, from Monday, May 1, until Sunday 14, will be between Longfleet Road and Verulam Road. The fourth closure, from Monday 15 until Sunday 28, will be between Verulam Road and Fernside Avenue. And the fifth closure, from Monday 29 until Tuesday, June 20, will be between Fernside Avenue and Parkstone Road.
A spokesperson for SGN said: “Other work will also run concurrently in adjacent roads at both locations, however the impact on motorists will be minimal.”
A diversion will be signed during the works.
