Tesco children’s challenge
CALLING ALL BUDDING CHEFS!
Are you aged between 10 and 14 years old?
Do you have a passion for cooking?
Ever thought of creating your own recipe?
If the answer to these questions is yes then this is your chance to win some brilliant prizes!!!
As part of ‘Poole Audi Eat Out Live’ we want to discover the finest young chef in the area. This is a fabulous opportunity to showcase your creative writing skills as well as your flair in the kitchen.
YOUR TASK IS:
To design a healthy, hot or cold, main course meal that can feed a family of 4.
YOU MUST:
Use ingredients sourced in Dorset (where possible) that cost no more than £20.00.
Spend no more then £20.00 on your total ingredients.
Be able to prepare and cook (if applicable) your meal with 2 hours.
THE MENU
Your entry will be the detailed recipes and methods for making your creations.
All entries must be received by the deadline date of SUNDAY 31ST AUGUST 2008
YOUR RECIPE MUST INCLUDE:
The name of the supplier who you have bought each ingredient from and where the supplier/s is based i.e. Cedar Organic, Rempstone Farm.
Preparation time i.e. chopping, grating, marinating etc.
Cooking time and temperature (if applicable) i.e. 20minutes at gas mark 6.
Measurements of all foods used. i.e. 200g of steak mince
YOU WILL BE JUDGED ON:
Your ability to create a unique, healthy dish that is sourced solely through local producers and can feed a family of 4.
Your ability to use your creative writing skills. Remember! Your dish will not be tasted on the day so you will need to produce a dish that sounds as good as it tastes!
Your ability to present your recipe on paper, including the layout, the use of pictures that have been drawn/taken by yourself and something that shows you have used your own personal touch.

Closing date: Sunday 31st August 2008. All applications received after this date will not be counted.
Finalists will be announced at 2.00pm at the food demo area of ‘Poole Quay Live’ on Saturday 6th September.
PRIZES:
1st prize
A day in the Kitchen of Le Bateau Bistro where you will work alongside their famously creative and passionate Head Chef Nick Cook who will assist you in cooking your winning recipe.
Your winning recipe will then be elected as ‘Dish of the Day’ in this well respected restaurant.
You will also be the winner of a £50 voucher to spend in any Tesco store.
Finally, you will meet celebrity chef Mark Hix (pictured below) who will present you with a signed copy of his famous cook book ‘British Regional Food’ at ‘Poole Quay Live’ Saturday 6th September.
Runners Up
Runners up will receive a £25 voucher to spend in any Tesco store.
They will also meet celebrity chef Mark Hix who will present you with a signed copy of his famous cook book ‘British Regional Food’ at ‘Poole Quay Live’ Saturday 6th September.
THE RULES
1. You must provide J J PR and Events with the required details if you wish to enter this competition. JJ PR and Events will only ever use your personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not pass them on to anyone without your permission.
2. Only one entry per person will be accepted
3. Entries must be submitted using the correct form and sent to the correct postal address. Entries can also be submitted electronically to jane@janejonespr.co.uk
4. The competition is only open to UK residents aged between 10 and 14 at the closing date. J J PR and Events reserves the right to request proof of age.
5. Entrants must obtain permission from their parent or guardian before entering the competition
6. Your entry must be entirely your own work and its originality will be taken into account by the judges. By contributing your work to the organisers you agree to grant us the right to publish and use the material in all media for all purposes in connection with the competition. Please note that entries cannot be returned.
7. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives.
8. The organiser does not take responsibility for late or lost entry. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
9. Entrants must comply with all rules to be eligible for the prizes. Ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently will be automatically disqualified.
10. This competition is not open to any person directly involved in the organisation or running of the competition, or their direct families.
11. The organiser’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
12. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering this competition. Entrants may be asked to take part in post competition publicity.
13. The competition finalists will be contacted personally. In the event of there being no reply from the telephone number or address supplied the organiser reserves the right to offer the place in the final to a runner up
14. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
15. This competition is administered by the organisers being J J PR and Events
16. All entries MUST be received by Sunday 31st August by either post or e-mail.
