KATE and Wills trusted a Dorset photographer with taking photos for their private wedding album.

Millie Pilkington’s special informal shots, taken at the reception and also alone in a palace room, will be the ones the newly weds look back on in years to come.

Mrs Pilkington, pictured right, from King’s Stag, near Sturminster Newton, says the bash was a “wonderful, intimate family affair” with “absolutely hysterical” speeches – and feels sure the loved-up pair are made for each other.

“Their love for each other was so evident,” she said. “Everyone could see it.

“They were buzzing with happiness and seemed to be having the best day of their lives, as indeed we all were.”

Stunning Kate was the “epitome of calm” as the eyes of the world watched on, the Middleton family friend revealed.

And after those balcony kisses, she took the pictures that won’t be seen in public, instead destined for their photo frames.

She said: “They’re some lovely, informal, intimate shots that I hope they will treasure for ever.”

Then, as a guest at the party, she couldn’t help but snap away – even though Kate had sweetly told her to just enjoy herself and have fun.

“To be a photographer and to be surrounded by that much beauty, the location, all these stunning guests, I couldn’t stop, so I photographed all night and into the morning,” she said.

“It was such an honour to be involved in such an historic event and to be able to be there to catch all these private and intimate photographs was the icing on the cake.”

Wills, now the Duke of Cambridge, wasn’t the only one with pre-wedding nerves.

Mrs Pilkington said: “I’ve been terrified, utterly nervous. I haven’t slept for weeks.

“I still can’t believe it, I keep having to pinch myself.”

• WEDDING guest and Dorset man Tony Ainsworth confessed to feeling “a little jaded” the morning after the celebrations.

Mr Ainsworth, one of the Middleton’s family friends put up in the Goring hotel after the mammoth party, says he was woken at 5am by revellers returning from the palace.

“I went to bed around 1am but I heard guests stumbling around at 5am,” he said.

“My own daughter got married two years ago and, as a father of the bride, I thought Mike (Mr Middleton) handled himself brilliantly. James (Kate’s brother) also gave an incredible address.”
