WELL known sandwich chain, Subway is sponsoring a life size statue of a lion, which will be designed by their customers in the ‘Sublime Sublion’ competition.

Sublime Sublion, part of a pride of lion statues, is crying out for colour and personality with designs reflecting the Subway brand or products.

Subway’s creative customers are invited to design the lion sculptures in any way they wish, whether it’s simply using paint or being even more creative with fabric or mosaics.

Once complete Sublime Sublion will join the rest of the pride, which will animate the streets and public spaces of Bournemouth during the summer event.

Money raised by the auction of the lions will be donated to the charities Born Free and Julia’s House.

Martin Graves, Managing Director for Subway South Ltd said: “We are proud to be part of this exciting event and delighted to be able to offer the community the opportunity to design a lion. We look forward to seeing the pride on display during summer 2011 and to raising valuable funds for these deserving charities. We are sure that Pride in Bournemouth will be a major attraction that will enrich our community and be widely enjoyed by both the local community and visitors to the town.”

The winning Sublime Sublion design will be brought to life when the paper design is transferred to the lion sculpture and will be displayed in Wallisdown Road Subway for all to enjoy.

Not only will the winner see their design recreated on the fantastic statue, but they will also be a VIP guest at the grand gala auction being held at the Pavilion in September of this year.
