Big day is here so let us all enjoy it

THE wait is finally over. At last the big day has arrived.

Tens of thousands of excited spectators are expected to line the route today as the Olympic Torch Relay comes to Bournemouth, Poole and Purbeck.

Come rain or shine, the crowds will be out in force to witness a once in a lifetime occasion.

Following hard on the heels of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, it’s great that we have another opportunity to party. And in a few weeks’ time, we will have the Olympics to enjoy.

In years to come we will look back at this summer and hopefully, have many treasured memories of these momentous events.

And The Echo will be giving all readers the opportunity to relive and reflect on this thrilling occasion by capturing all the action from the Olympic Torch Relay in our supplements, published on Saturday and Monday.

So now, let’s enjoy the spectacle, whatever the weather.

I was cynical, but having seen it, I'm putting my name down to run in Rio............. wonder if they'll have as many Eastern Europeans as we did in our relay...............

It passed by where I was at the time. However I was shocked. It seemed like a opportunity for three tacky advertising wagons plastered with corporate logo’s and advertising screens. I think maybe a cross between the Eurovision and a sad party DJ springs to mind.
The Corporate games are here!
