BUSINESSMAN Mr Abdul Jaffer is on the receiving end of adverse publicity over another of his care homes today.

Marlborough House has been the subject of enforcement action by the Care Quality Commission which concluded it failed five of seven standards assessed.

This follows a critical report on the Avalon, also owned by Mr Jaffer.

In these instances those responsible always begin by saying words to the effect that they have “addressed many of issues raised”.

They rarely, if ever, explain how they allowed standards to fall to such unacceptable levels in the first place.
