WEATHER forecasters had predicted a sting in the tail as the remnants of Hurricane Bertha hit the region.
But for most people it turned out to be a few hours of pelting rain and blustery winds and then bright sunshine for most of the day.
There was some storm damage in the county, notably trees down.
However if you fancied a lie-in and could sleep through the noise, you probably woke wondering what all the fuss was about.
Which just goes to prove, weather forecasting can still be an unpredictable business.
