IT only takes a brief walk around the centre of Bournemouth to tell you that there is a problem on the streets.
Yesterday Bournemouth council launched a new campaign aimed at tackling the issues of rough sleeping and begging. The town centre is not the only hotspot, Boscombe and the Travel Interchange also have a similar problem.
Although a number of agencies are involved, it’s clear that a significant part of the answer lies with the police who need to get tough with, for example, aggressive individuals intimidating members of the public at cashpoints.
