IT’S summer and the perennial issue of illegal traveller encampments is back, perhaps a little later than usual.
Council staff at Kinson, Fleetsbridge and Baiter are dealing with small incursions with guards on alert at a number of other sites. Local residents are unhappy and the bill to be picked by the council taxpayer is mounting.
A year on from last year’s fiasco, little has changed. Poole has been through a process that took the borough back to square one. Bournemouth’s position remains unchanged, there’s no suitable site. The law hasn’t changed. Something, sometime has to give.
