Real change badly needed

Bournemouth Echo: Real change badly needed Real change badly needed

ONCE, reports of someone being stabbed and another wielding an axe in the street would have been shocking.

Sadly, many are of the opinion that it is nothing unusual in Boscombe.

Efforts have been made to smarten up the area and promote community spirit, but these incidents are unfortunately still all too regular.

Sadly, no amount of flowers in The Crescent will stop this.

It requires real change from everyone, not least the criminal element that we know exists.

The problems run deep – but it’s not too late for everyone to work together.

Clearly the Editor who wrote this has not live in Bournemouth long or done his research. The editor opinion is clearly written to try and defend the three conservative councillors of Boscombe West who are clearly not up to the job.

So lets educate him.The problem began back in the seventies when the tourist trade was in decline and hoteliers were selling their properties to a certain individual who turned them into bedsits. Then we had an influx of people who came from a city in the North west of England and then it all began.
The ward has not been represented properly since Harry Cutler or Phil Carey left office. One Lib Dem councillor who had portfolio subsequently disappeared to Eastleigh but took his allowances and then resigned at election. Then we had another Lib Dem councillor who resigned.

Boscombe has had enough money thrown at it.For example SRB1 and 3 and Neighbourhood Management and all have failed. That money could of been used more effectively on an housing estate and opposed to different faction with different priorities in Boscombe.

It is well known that if you want a career move which is promotional or move into politics just say the right things so your superiors will identify you as potential.Hey Ash ! and several others who have followed the same path.
The crime has evolved being more sinister and the area has widened. So I hope you learn't something Mr Editor from this minor education write up on Boscombe West.

From what comes out of Boscombe makes the Pashawer Valley look like toy town.
