DORSET citizens who went to the polls yesterday must contain their excitement for another three days. The UK results won’t be known until Sunday when most of the rest of Europe votes.

The campaign has been dominated by Nigel Farage’s Ukip and probably he will be the only one of the four leaders who’ll be in a relaxed frame of mind.

Results in the South West constituency, of which Dorset is part, will be counted and declared in Poole.

Here, as everywhere else, they are likely to provide an interesting insight in the political battle over the next 12 months. It’s not all about Europe.
