AFTER all the arguments about the latest Wiggle cycle ride in the New Forest, the only people known to have behaved badly over the event were not cyclists.

It is only down to luck that the fool or fools who scattered nails in the road at Burley did not cause a serious accident.

The event itself seems to have been a credit to the organisers, and should have taken some of the heat out of the ongoing debate about mass cycling events in the Forest.

As that discussion continues, we have to hope that the saboteurs will see the inside of a magistrates’ court.
