THE sun shone on Poole’s first same sex marriage ceremony yesterday.
It would be a mistake to read too much into the weather, but anyone looking for a sign of divine disapproval would have been disappointed.
The Rev Kersten Kirkland can now call partner Sue her wife. And no one else’s marriage is any weaker as a result.
The issue of gay marriage has been divisive, but it is time for people to move on and fret about the real problems of this world. In the meantime, we should wish good luck to Kersten and Sue in all the joys, rewards and occasional trials of married life.
