Dangerous dogs and the law

First published in Opinion

TODAY we tell the story of another dog attack. A West Highland Terrier was set upon in the middle of Poole High Street by some kind of pitbull cross.

The pet suffered nasty injuries but was not seriously hurt. The same cannnot be said for a cat savaged to death in a driveway by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier - an incident covered in this paper yesterday. These frequent episodes are distressing and often expensive. Given the number of the attacks, it is surely time for legislators to take another at the law surrounding out of control and dangerous dogs - and more importantly how their owners should be dealt with. f

Wow, another "pitbull" attack. Would love to know where everyone keeps finding them because I've only ever seen two and I am a dog owner and work with dogs.
