IT’S good news that Dorset Police is listening to the public and has decided to put on hold its plan to close some police enquiry offices and reduce hours at other sites.

But the fact remains that the county’s force does have funding issues and needs to make savings quickly.

And the cuts have got to be made somewhere.

An idea of putting ‘police kiosks’ in key areas which the public frequent – such as shopping centres and precincts – would mean the service remains at, hopefully, a lower cost.
