BIN collectors tend to be some of the hardest working people in your community.
The job of Bournemouth’s refuse crews has become more complicated with the arrival of food waste caddies, which residents are told to tuck inside their big wheelie bins.
Without extra staff or time allocated to the job, it is hardly surprising that more than 100 caddies of a potential 62,000 ended up in the back of the dustcart.
If anyone is tempted to criticise the crews for the confusion, we should hear first from the person who has never made a mistake at work.
