TODAY we publish a picture you probably never thought you’d see - the Tory leader of Bournemouth Council, John Beesley, with a halo over his head.
It’s a bit of fun of course, but the majority of council taxpayers in the borough are likely to be delighted that the council is set to freeze bills next year and absorb rises in the police and fire precepts.
Of course there’s a large slice of politics involved, especially in relation to Martyn Underhill’s recent PCC increase.
But in a week when other council leaders have lurched from crisis to fiasco, the shrewd Cllr Beesley has come up smelling of roses.
