IT is feared at least 20 dogs have died in this country of so-called Alabama Rot.
Included in that total are 12 from the New Forest and now one in Christchurch, Dorset.
So far, it appears not a lot has been done to address the problem.
A group of dog lovers has responded to the situation by setting up a fund to carry out more crucial research in this area.
The Echo welcomes any initiative which can provide answers to what seems to be a growing issue for dog owners in the region.
