LIVERPOOL may have won the game, but the Cherries deserve enormous praise for the way they played in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round tie.

Not only did the team come out of the match with great credit, young manager Eddie Howe was once again in the spotlight for causing one of the Premiership’s top sides all kinds of difficulties.

And the television coverage also portrayed the team and the town in a favourable light.

Although it was a defeat for Bournemouth, in some respects it feels like a victory.
