IT wasn’t a great Christmas for some. Not least those who were forced from their homes by flood waters over Christmas. Two mobile home parks suffered the worst with scores of residents evacuated with little more than the clothes they stood up in. Many of the homeowners will not know for a while the extent of the damage, though for some it will be considerable.

The drama did however show two things. The stoicism of those affected (mainly older residents) and the teamwork of agencies like fire, police, social services, NHS, Red Cross and the voluntary sector. A great job.
