What next for hospitals?

ALTHOUGH they will put a brave face on it, hospital bosses at Poole and Bournemouth will be hugely disappointed if their merger plans are rejected, as looks likely.
The Competition Commission has yet to announce a decision, but in a letter to colleagues, RBCH chief executive Tony Spotswood says he anticipates the merger will be blocked.
His Poole counterpart, Chris Bown, has previously warned that his hospital faced administration in that eventuality.
The whole process, which has already cost millions, was flawed and there will now be serious decisions to make.
