Lessons in irresponsibility
9:52am Friday 11th October 2013 in Opinion
UNIONS and some teachers are showing where their priorities lie with their strike action next week. It’s not with the children. Some parents are likely to have, at most, half an hour’s notice over whether their school will be open next Thursday because staff don’t have to say what they’re going to do until the day itself. This approach is utterly irresponsible. Those who intend to withdraw their labour could easily give notice and help parents plan. The industrial action is a classic example of out of touch teaching professionals. Children will need no lessons in responsibility from those taking part.
