Council seeing the light
10:34am Friday 6th September 2013 in Opinion
YOU can already hear the outcry in some quarters.
Detractors will be asking: “Why is Bournemouth council spending £400,000 on lighting in the Lower Gardens?”
They will argue the money should be spent on more ‘needy’ projects.
But if this initiative brings more visitors to the town and they spend more time here during the Christmas period and then spend more money, then it will be an extremely worthwhile venture.
With “light pods”, the outdoor skating rink and the grotto – all in the same area – it should be quite an attraction.
