The real problem with A31
10:53am Wednesday 21st August 2013 in Opinion
MOST public authorities with an interest in the matter seem to accept that concern is rising about the A31 and that something needs to be done.
Yesterday’s crash near Ringwood was just the latest in a very long list of accidents along that stretch of highway. Mercifully, unlike many other incidents, no-one was hurt.
Many people brand the A31 a dangerous road, but it is drivers who make it so.
Speeding, tailgating, undertaking and changing lanes without due care.
These are some of the reasons the A31 is a huge problem.
Cutting the speed limit will do little to change any of that.
