Real positivity in head’s message

IT’S not easy to be positive when you can see something precious going up in smoke.

But Iain Robertson, head of Buckholme Towers school in Poole, which was hit by a fire on Tuesday, is refusing to be downcast.

As he surveyed the severely damaged premises in Commercial Road, he said defiantly: “The phoenix is dusting itself off. It hasn’t risen, as it will do, but I can guarantee there will be a grand re-opening and the community will be heavily involved.”

It’s just the right message to send out to everyone attached to the independent school and the wider community in Parkstone.

Indeed, he goes further by saying: “This is an opportunity to bring it into the 21st century and provide everything the children need, particularly in terms of technology.”

Credit must also go to those who have offered to help the school in its hour of need.
