THE fact that the Bournemouth council camera car made more than £100,000 profit in the latest set of figures will either delight you or leave you in despair.
For the latter there are people who believe the motorist is being treated as a “cash cow” by authorities and whatever they do or wherever they park they have to pay in some form or other for it.
And when they don’t, someone is going to hit you with a hefty fine.
For the former there are those who think the motorist should play by the rules and if they don’t obey parking regulations then they deserve what’s coming to them.
And on the plus side, all the money goes back into the town’s roads and safety operations and it is helping to install new cycle arrangements.
No matter where you stand on this issue, it seems certain that there’s plenty more mileage in this particular campaign.
