FOR some campaigners it won’t make any difference.
But it is a step in the right direction.
The companies behind the Navitus Bay offshore windfarm proposals have come up with a Plan B.
After facing months of campaigns and protest against the scheme, Eneco and EDF say they have listened to public opinion and want to engage in a constructive dialogue.
Now the development would be 12 miles out to sea rather than ten.
The turbines would have a maximum height of 200 metres, with 218 of them rather than the number originally put forward.
Local authorities in particular have been frustrated from the outset by a lack of information but this may no longer be a problem if Navitus mean what they say.
New designs will go on display early in 2013 but for many of the opponents the revised scheme is unlikely
