I implore Bromley Council to consider abolishing the teaching of religion in state schools. We only have to look at Northern Ireland to realise how dangerous religious indoctrination can be. There is a very thin line between a devout believer and bigoted believer in any religion. The basics people must leave school with are: knowing the difference between right and wrong; appreciation of human rights; compassion for others; and consideration of, and a will to help, one's neighbour.
