FIGHTERS: Louis Davies and Brydie Winslow with twins Kian Louis and Lyndon George who were born at 24 weeks and were given a very low chance of survival
IDENTICAL twins Kian and Lyndon smile and gurgle happily like any other babies.
But the gutsy pair have been dubbed "miracle babies" after they were born four months prematurely and faced a tough battle for survival.
Little Kian was born weighing just one pound 13 oz and Lyndon at one pound eight oz after their mum went into labour at 24 weeks.
Medical staff repeatedly warned parents Brydie Winslow, 20, and Louis Davies, 21, that the babies were unlikely to survive.
The little fighters were only recently allowed to leave Poole Neo-Natal Unit and return to their home at Heights Road, Upton.
Louis, a former Royal Marine, and fiancee Brydie described the "emotional rollercoaster" they have been on since the twins were born in April. They hope their story will give hope to other parents of premature babies.

Brydie said: "They will be five months old next week but really they should be four or five weeks old.
"It was quite a surprise when we went for a scan to find out there were two. It was a bit of a shock. It's hard to explain - elation and worry at the same time.
"Having them at 24 weeks was a bit of a scare as it is not far past the abortion age. You can't prepare yourself emotionally or physically.
"There weren't really any complications until someone banged into the back of my car and after that I had random bleeds. At the hospital they said there was nothing wrong."
In April Brydie began to feel unwell and was taken to Poole Maternity Unit as a precaution. The couple were shocked to be told that she was going into labour.
For the twins to stand any chance of survival Brydie was transferred to Southampton where they have better facilities for premature babies.
Kian was born on April 9 at 11.51pm and Lyndon on April 10 at 12.06am and they were put into separate incubators.
Brydie said: "We were told when I went into hospital that their chances of survival were none for Lyndon and one to two per cent for Kian.
"It was quite a shock. Inside you want to cry but outside you have got to be strong."
For the babies the battle was only just beginning. The couple received emergency calls to go to Southampton on several occasions as doctors feared the babies had not long to live.
The pair both fought off meningitis and several infections and Lyndon underwent operations on his heart and a hernia operation.
Whilst they were in the incubators the couple were almost afraid to touch them, revealed Louis.
"You could open the door and change their nappies. We could take them out and give them a cuddle. They were so small we were scared of breaking them and kept contact to a minimum," said Louis.
The couple cannot rate the care given by staff at Poole Neo-Natal unit and the Princess Anne Neo natal unit at Southampton highly enough and plan to raise money for them to say thank you to staff.
The first event is a performance by Bournemouth Carnival Band at Bournemouth Pier Approach on Thursday from 8pm featuring Louis, who is a band member, and father Dean Davies who is joint bandmaster.
Kian and Lyndon now weigh eight pounds ten oz and six pounds 13 oz respectively and are catching up their peers fast.
The only sign of their ordeal is that Lyndon must wear an oxygen pack until his lungs are ready to cope by themselves.
Brydie said: "It's nice to have the celebrations and do all that. When they were first born everyone was saying they didn't want to bring flowers and cards because they didn't know what was going to happen.
"Now we are going to get everyone round for a big celebration."
Good Luck to Brydie and Louis. Wishing you all the best of health in the future. It truely is a miracle that they both survived. Spoil them rotten and enjoy every minute.Which I am sure you will. Will say hello if I see you. Take care.
