  • 1988: For another 10 years people were able to enjoy the views while councillors and officers tried to come up with ideas for a wet weather attraction that would keep the tourists flocking to the resort.

  • 26/07/1999: Sheridan visit the new IMAX cinema complex in Bournemouth: IMAX Executives Simon Healy, Stephanie Leaist, Ido Von Karhan, Councillor Jackie Harris, John Davison and Stephen Godsall.
  • 13/12/1999: Work has stopped on the complex.
  • 07/08/2000: Over a year after it was due to open and the screen at the IMAX is yet to be put in place.
  • 23/01/2002: The seats are ready for the first customers.
  • 23/01/2002: The projector arrives and is taken into the IMAX.
  • 19/03/2002: The Imax cinema opens its doors to the first invited guests at Bournemouth Seafront. The Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth Cllr Douglas and Mrs Nina Eyre and Peter Curistan (Chairman of the Sheridan Group) cut the ribbon to open the cinema.
