HEALTHWATCH Dorset is launching a new project for young people to share their health and wellbeing experiences.

The health watchdog’s “Be yourself: Everybody else is taken” project is aimed at children and adults aged 11-25 across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset, and is currently being rolled out at a series of school assemblies and college sessions across the county.

Healthwatch Dorset’s young people’s officer Emilia Chase said: “We’re encouraging anyone between the ages of 11 and 25 to tell us about their experience of mental health, disability, caring for others or the struggles they face with identity, in a digital and creative format. We want to hear about both good and bad experiences.

“You can write a poem, story, diary entry, blog or vlog. Create a film, a piece of drama, dance or send in photography or illustrations about your experiences.

“Be as creative as you want and we’ll use all the entries to help us improve local services.”

Entries, which can by anonymous, can be sent to Emilia at beyourself@healthwatchdorset.co.uk, and some will be used in a spring exhibiton for health professionals. For more information and to see entries already received visit www.healthwatchdorset.co.uk.
