THE fitness challenge is on… and three rivals’ loss will be Sport Relief’s gain!

Daily Echo editor-in-chief Neal Butterworth has joined forces with Peter Elviss, chief executive of the West Hants Club, and former Cherries star and local businessman Les Parodi to raise money for next month’s national fundraising campaign.

They have embarked on a five-week fitness challenge culminating in the West Hants Club’s fundraising night on Friday, March 19.

All three have been weig-hed, measured and tested ahead of the campaign and will follow nutritional advice from the club’s fitness manager Mark Daley, along with his workout tips.

Peter Elviss said: “We’re all really keen and there’s bound to be plenty of friendly rivalry, especially when we get on the squash and racquetball courts.”

Neal added: “It’s sometimes a struggle to motivate yourself to get fit on your own, but the fact that we all want to improve our fitness more than the others over the course of the challenge gives it an extra edge.”

The three will be measured again on the night of the Sport Relief event and we’ll be monitoring their progress in the coming weeks.
