Every year a reunion dinner is organised for past Alumni former pupils and teachers who attended Bournemouth School for Boys to meet and reminisce about past times.

Originally built in 1900 in Lowther Road, the school then moved to East Way in 1939. The first pupils arrived just as war broke out and found they were sharing their new building with Taunton's School from Southampton which had been evacuated to Bournemouth away from the highly vulnerable city of Southampton. Some of the pupils only ever attended the East Way building as they didn't return until the hostilities ceased.

It has been the tradition that some of the pupils from Taunton join Bournemouth School's reunion. Sadly as age advances their numbers have declined to four.

The reunion dinner is to be held at the Highcliff Marriott Hotel on September 23 at 7pm. Chairman David Trenchard will introduce Cllr Don McQueen who will talk about his memories of the school and tell of his experiences and career since. The current headmaster Dr Dorian Lewis will give a short report on the school 's recent progress and its hopes for the future and the school captain Jake McDonnell will explain how pupils are coping with the pressures at the school today.

Former pupils and staff who are interested in attending the reunion should contact Ian Underwood at underwoods4@yahoo.co.uk or further information can be obtained from David Trenchard on 01202 394108 or when the website www.oldbournemouthians.co.uk
