Mary Curtis of Wareham contacted the Echo after seeing the article on Captain Albert Cockle printed on August 3. When she was a child she lived in Cellars Farm Road near Solent Road in Southbourne where the captain lived with his two sons Albert and Victor in 1930s.
Mary and Victor attended St Katharine's Primary School. His older brother Albert was a similar age to her brother Bob Curtis. She thinks Albert went on to grammar school.
During the war Bob served in the Royal Air Force, and their house had to be evacuated after a neighbouring house was destroyed by a bomb.
