MRS Brenda Vaughan of Southbourne recognised her son Daren in Tony Hulson’s picture of pupils from classes 8 and 9 at Pokesdown Primary School in 1977.

Daren is in the front row, third from the left. He is now married and since 1990 has been living and working in Italy.

Brenda and her late husband were members of the parent teachers association, helping out at events at the school.

The family knew the sisters Joy and Julie Denby, next to Daren in the same row. Brenda often brought them home when school finished as their mother was out working.

A couple of years ago Joy, who is now a nurse, got back in touch with Daren via Facebook.

Brenda recalls Boye Gbadebo and Soya Briggs lived in a house in West Road, Bournemouth.

Brenda’s other son Clive, who was five years older than Daren, used to work for a local glass firm with Philip Hillman, another pupil in the front row, second from the right.

Clive also attended the school and now lives in Christchurch.
