Tony Hulson of Moordown in Bournemouth brought in an old photograph of the primary school he attended in the 1970s. Tony originally from Barnsley moved down to Bournemouth with the family in 1975.

The picture of classes 8 and 9 of Pokesdown Primary School in Livingstone Road in Bournemouth was taken in 1977. Tony is the small blonde boy on the end of the second row down on the left.

He has identified the other pupils in the picture as follows, back row, left to right, two unknowns, Kirk Dowdall, two unknowns, Michelle Luther, Kim West, an unknown, one of identical twins Katherine Knobb, and two unknowns. Next row, Tony Hulson, an unknown, Robert May, Steven Coates, Sarah Mitchell, Boye Gbadebo, two unknowns, Richard Kendrick, an unknown, Russell Haycock and Soya Briggs. Next row, two unknowns, Lisa Vale, Alison Talbot, three unknowns, Jeremy Clarke, Elaine Flower, Katrina Knobb, the other twin and David Coward. Front row, two unknowns, Darren Vaughan, sisters Joy and Julie Denby, Zena Bishop, Nicola Jones, three unknowns, Philip Hillman and an unknown.

Class 8 teacher was Miss Kates and Mr Parkin taught class 9. The headmaster was George Sheppard.

The present Pokesdown Primary School was built on the site of the original school.
