Elizabeth Ann Ballam was born and lived in Bournemouth most of her life. She has since retired to the Brecon Beacons in Mid-Wales and was going through some old photographs and came across this one of Malmesbury Park Infant School pupils with musical instruments taken circa 1949-52.
She would be interested to know if anyone can recognise themselves or perhaps their relatives might be able to identify them. The children would now be in their 70th year which she is the same age as Elizabeth.
She can remember most of the names as follows, back row, left to right, Lyn Hendy, Linda Cooper, an unknown, Timothy Wright, Alan Foster, Michael ?, Douglas Gubbins, Melody Cracknell and Cynthia Sims. Middle row, Douglas Bainton, Judith?, Morag Robertson, an unknown, Christine Sims, Carole Freeman, Pauline Chalmers, Elizabeth Adams, Pamela Dann, Ann Bison and Ann Ballam, the owner of the picture. In the front row are Wendy?, David Hoad and Anna Baum whose mother she believes was also a teacher at the school.
Malmesbury Park Infant School was then situated in the lower half of Malmesbury Park Road, between Westons Bakery and Pickford's Removals. The school occupied a site stretching backwards to Shelbourne Road and the caretakers house.
