CATS, dogs, and even a horse, are all looking for forever homes this festive season.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue, which has two centres in Dorset, has given the details of a group of animals in need of new owners.

Gin and Tom are two felines hoping to find families in time for Christmas.

Eight-year-old Gin has so far lived as an indoor-only cat, but the staff at Margaret Green think she would appreciate the feel of grass under her paws.

Tom, five, loves to have fuss and enjoys being groomed. The staff say he “may look like a bit of a bruiser” but he is actually “a very friendly and soppy lad”.

Tia, a 13-year-old New Forest pony, is currently coming back into work and will be a “fantastic project for a very experienced and confident rider”, according to Margaret Green, as she can be “challenging”.

Three canines looking for new homes this Christmas are Bella, Rupert, and Sol.

Bella is a one-year-old German Shepherd and Greyhound cross and is described as “very sweet and affectionate” by the rescue staff.

Meanwhile, Sol, a two-year-old German Shepherd is nervous with new people but is a “cheeky chap” once he gets used to them. He loves long walks and playing with his ball.

And Rupert, also a German Shepherd cross, is three-years-old and is described as “happy and playful”.
