The 33 miners entombed in Chile are in contact with the surface at ‘Camp Hope’ by two boreholes. But it could take three-and-a-half months before an escape shaft can be constructed. We pray for their survival until then.
To some extent we are in a similar position spiritually.
The Bible says we are separated from God and also need rescuing. God came down to Earth from Heaven in the form of His Son to give us hope and reunite us to Himself.
He spent three-and-half years of His life ministering to us before His death on a cross.
But we can be rescued immediately if we personally accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord of our lives.
