PARKFIELD School celebrated its first Christmas in Hurn with a cracker of a festive fayre organised by its hard-working Parents and Friends Association (PFA).
PFA Chairman Kelly Reed, said: “Our first Christmas Fayre at our new site was a great success and as with all our PFA events has been down to the hard work and commitment of our many parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and family friends.”
The fayre, which was bursting with festive games and stalls, was well attended and raised around £400 for school funds.
Parkfield is Bournemouth’s only Free School and caters for children aged four-16.
Its PFA organises events to fund equipment for the whole school community.
PFA Secretary Steph Summer said: “In recent months we have raised funds towards Year 11’s Prom and we also paid for a production of Charlotte’s Webb to come into school.
“Money raised from the Christmas Fayre will be used to buy more books for the library.”
Kelly Reed added: “Parkfield’s ups and downs have been well documented over the past few years and through no fault of their own, the children, staff and parents had to deal with numerous delays before moving into the new building.
“But the PFA and its commitment to the school have remained constant throughout because we are all passionate about seeing our school succeed.
“We’re now looking forward to increasing our members and organising many more great events in 2018.”
