A POPULAR primary school has been praised following a visit from a senior Ofsted inspector.
St Katharine's Primary School at Hengistbury Head was described as "a school where pupils succeed" following a short inspection by Her Majesty's Inspector Tonwen Empson.
The school, in Rolls Drive, was judged as Good at its last full inspection and Ms Empson's one day visit confirmed the grade.
In a letter to head teacher Nicola St John, she said: "Due to your strong vision, which is widely shared and understood, this is a caring, nurturing school where everyone feels, and is, valued.
"Through the exciting, vibrant curriculum, pupils learn to appreciate the beautiful local environment. Pupils learn to collaborate, to be resilient, to make decisions and to be creative.
"Pupils are confident young learners who achieve well and are prepared for their future lives. This school continues to be good."
