THERE'S just over a week left to get your nominations in for the second annual Daily Echo School Awards.
Hundreds of people have already been put forward for awards but there's still time to suggest worthy winners in the 11 categories available.
We're particularly keen to hear about art teachers, middle school teachers and newcomers making a difference in our schools.
Last year Gillian Bennett-Lurie did Glenmoor Academy proud when she won the Newcomer of the Year award and Kate Richmond was a worthy winner in the Art Teacher of the Year category.
Middle School Teacher of the Year is a new category for 2017.
Do you know someone who goes out of their way to make life better for pupils in schools across the area?
It may be a head teacher or your child's class teacher, or perhaps you know a lollipop man or school lunch supervisor who deserves recognition.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 10, and afterwards a panel of judges will create a shortlist before choosing an overall winner in each category. An awards ceremony will take place at Bournemouth's Talbot Heath School in March.
So far this year’s awards are being sponsored by Goadsby, Bournemouth and Poole College, Two Counties Cleaning Services Limited and Blue Sky Financial Planning but there are still opportunities for others to get involved as sponsors or partners.
