BOURNEMOUTH University’s Festival of Learning has hit the big screen in a cinema trailer created by local production company LoveLove Film.

The trailer, which showcases some of the free events on offer during BU’s upcoming Festival of Learning, will be shown before films at Tower Park’s Empire Cinema.

LoveLove Film is a Bournemouth-based production company set up by BU Television Production graduate Georgina Hurcombe, with several BU alumni working on producing the trailer.

"It’s been great to produce the Festival of Learning cinema trailer for Bournemouth University" said Georgina, who is Managing Director and a producer at LoveLove Films.

"As a BU TV Production Graduate I feel that the university has been instrumental in enabling me to have the skillsets to set up LoveLove Films."

She added: "The trailer itself was created by three of our BU graduate team members including TV Production graduate Sunny Clarke, Computer Animation and Arts graduate David O'Donald, and Scriptwriting for Film and Television graduate Maxim Sorokopud.

"I hope the trailer will encourage many people to attend the Festival of Learning, and reflects the high standard of BU’s education."

The Festival of Learning runs from Saturday July 11 until Friday July 17, with more than 150 free events and activities open to the public.

It aims to share BU’s world-leading research, knowledge and expertise with the local community in an engaging and accessible way.

New this year is a family day on Saturday July 11, with a host of activities suitable for the whole family, alongside two talks by TV personality and naturalist Chris Packham.

BU Vice-Chancellor Professor John Vinney said: "Over the course of the week, we’ll have over 150 events ranging from interactive workshops, family activities and public lectures to opportunities to get involved in our research.

"Whether you’re part of a business, looking for something different to do with the family, or are simply inspired by learning new things - there’s something for everyone."
