THREE sisters picked up a host of awards competing in the finals of the British Ski Academy’s national Anglo-Scottish ski races.

Ballard School pupils Natasha, Anastacia and Sophie Stocker from Lymington took part in a multitude of gruelling events held on the men’s World Cup Downhill slope at Chamonix Valley fighting against tough weather conditions due to rain and very little snow.

Natasha, 13, competed in six events in the under-14 girls category and achieved second place in the super giant slalom, despite it being her first time competing in this event, whilst winning gold in the Giant Slalom event.

Eleven-year-old Anastacia competed in three events in the under-12 girls category, achieving silver in the giant slalom and, due to her success, qualified to compete with the under-14s, finishing in fourth place in her age group.

The youngest of the three, Sophie, competed in three events in the under-10 girls category, winning gold in all three.

Ballard School supported the girls by providing them with educational materials to ensure they kept up with their classmates.

Headmaster Alastair Reid said: “It is extremely important to Ballard School that we support our pupils and help them chase their own dreams, whatever they may be.

“We understand that at times, pupils may need to be away from school to achieve this.

“However, we will still look to aid them by providing educational material and any other help we can to ensure they are kept up to speed with their fellow peers whilst away.

“We are very proud of Natasha, Anastacia and Sophie and their recent skiing success and would like to say a massive well done.”
