A NORTH Bournemouth primary has received its best-ever report following a visit by Ofsted inspectors.

The success comes hot on the heels of record SATs results and a £5million building project.

Headteacher Sarah Dunn was singled out for her “exceptionally strong leadership” and inspectors also praised staff, governors and pupils. Heathlands, which has 203 pupils between the ages of three and 11, was given an overall rating of ‘Good’ – it was previously classified as ‘Requires Improvement’.

“This success is down to the hard work of pupils, staff, governors, the Friends association and everyone connected with the school” said Mrs Dunn.

He added: “The journey does not stop here. We are aiming for ‘Outstanding’ next time.”

The report noted that pupils enjoy lessons and make good progress in reading, writing and mathematics, reaching the required standard by the time they leave.

Parents said they are thrilled with the report and also the school in general.
