ADRIAN WILLS of Ensbury Park sent in pictures he took of the Magna Road Bridge crossing Magna Road, east of Canford School, as it was being demolished 30 years ago.
The bridge had become unsafe after being damaged heavily by 'over-height' vehicles and was demolished by J Bascombe Contractors of Three Legged Cross over a two-day road closure in January 1987.
Jim Bascombe's son Andy and Adrian were among a group of bikers circulating Wimborne in the early 1970s
The old Wimborne estate carriage path bridge that crossed Ringwood Road in the opposite direction also had to be demolished in 1976.
