Think you can do better?
Taking a pet selfie takes time and patience, and it's important not to force your pet if they are feeling camera shy. It’s better to position yourself next to your pet rather than trying to get them to fit in the frame with you.
So, if your cat is already sitting, slide in next to them. And if your dog is lying down, get down on the floor with them.
Remember, it doesn't count as a selfie if someone in the picture didn't press the shutter - so please don't send us those, they won't count!
Once you have taken your selfie, send it to petselfies@bournemouthecho.co.uk, post it on instagram and tag us in the picture or the comments (we're @bournemouthecho), message it to us via our Facebook page, tweet it to us @bourmemouthecho using #echopetselfies or whatsapp 07909007839.
The best will be printed in the paper, and there will be prizes on offer. Keep checking back for more details.
