Dignataries including the Mayor of Christchurch and the Lord Lieutenant of Dorset will be attending a celebratory concert at St Peter’s Church in Bournemouth on Thursday night organised by Royal Over-Seas League Bournemouth.

At Winton Primary School, children will be dressed for their own mini garden party on Friday with food, bunting and crafts based on the book, The Queens Knickers by Nicholas Allan.

In Pokesdown, residents will host a red, white and blue themed summer market on Saturday while in Christchurch around 180 people from five nearby roads will host a street party in Freda Road.

Ferndown residents are hosting a street party in Wollaton Road on Sunday, June 12, while over 300 people are set to attend a party in Hennings Park Road in Oakdale.

Nicky Prior from Flambard Lane Social Club in Christchurch, which started in 1977, says that they will be lighting a beacon.

She added: “We are very excited to have been loaned by the City Of London one of the specially made Queen’s 90th birthday beacons, which we will be lighting at 12.45pm to kick off our celebrations.

“During the afternoon we will be asking the street to help create a giant street art birthday card, which will be photographed and sent to the Queen. We have planned a Hollywood-style Walk Of Fame, where our guests can have their own pavement star for a day, a whole street pass the parcel game, plus lots more games, live music and fun throughout the afternoon.”

The club will also host competitions throughout the day such as the best decorated house, best Queen’s birthday hat and best decorated celebration table, which culminates with tea and cake.

Ringwood Town Council are providing 2,000 seats at a top table event in the Marketplace with certificates and a commemorative photo for all residents who share the Queen’s 90th birthday.
